The Federal Council began its traditional “school race” on Thursday. The president of the Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter takes her colleagues through her canton of St-Gall for two days.
The seven federal councilors visited the city of Rapperswil-Jona (SG) in the morning, on the shores of Lake Zurich. They met the local population there around an aperitif.
“I want to show my colleagues from the Federal Council a less known side of my canton,” said Karin Keller-Sutter (PLR) facing the media gathered in the afternoon at the Mariasee housewife school in Weesen, by Lake Walenstadt. The village of Quinten, located on the same bank and accessible only by boat, then awaited the government to complete the first day of the excursion.
Friday, the executive must go to St-Gall, where an aperitif is planned in old town with the population. The annual summer excursions of the Federal Council have existed since 1957.
