FIFA ranking: the Red Flames maintain themselves while Spain goes up in first place

After the Women’s Euro in Switzerland, the FIFA ranking is updated. Belgium and the Red Flames do not move a place and remain 20th, while Spain climbs in mind.

Belgium has retained its 20th world place in the world ranking of FIFA, among the ladies, despite elimination in the group phase at the Euro.

The International Football Federation updated its hierarchy on Thursday which sees Spain settle in number 1 ahead of the United States. The Spaniards lost the final of the European Championship on penalties against England which takes the opportunity to climb from 5th to 4th place. Sweden, 3rd, completes the podium with a three -row gain. The Swedes had been eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Euro by the English.

Best place for Belgium in 2019 and 2020

The Red Flames bowed 1 to 0 against Italy then 6 to 2 against Spain in the group stage at the Euro in Switzerland before closing by a success on Portugal (2-1). The Italians now occupy 12th place (+1) and Portugal 23rd (-1). The next Red Flames meetings are scheduled for late October with a dam match for maintenance in division A of the League of Nations against Ireland.

Belgium will travel to Dublin on October 24 and receive the Irish, 27th in the world ranking (-2), on the 28th in Louvain. The best global position of the Red Flames was a 17th place in 2019 and 2020. The next FIFA ranking at the ladies will be updated on December 11
