Saches of spinach sold everywhere in France recalled

Several sachets of spinach from the Florette brands and our garden are the subject of a recall due to the presence of the Listeria bacteria.

Spinach lovers are called to prudence. Thursday, August 7, the official site Reminder Console has reported the withdrawal of several sachets of young spinach shoots sold throughout France due to contamination to Listeria Monocytogenes, a bacteria responsible for listeriosis.

Two brands are concerned: Florette and our garden, distributed in Intermarché, System U, Carrefour, Leclerc, Auchan, Monoprix or the Great Grocery store. On the side of Florette, several references are recalled: “Tender spinach” 300 grams (lot 09A3295) marketed between July 17 and 27, a sachet of “Young spinach shoots of 100 grams” (05V1305 and 06V1305) sold from 22 to 31 July and another “Young spinach shoots of 175 grams” (05V1305), marketed at the same period.

For our garden, the recall concerns “Young spinach shoots of 100 grams” (lot 06v1305), sold between July 22 and August 1 in Leclerc stores. Only products whose barcode is followed by figures 09 are affected.

Listeriosis can cause fever, headache or aches, and cause serious complications, especially in pregnant women or immunocompromised people. Reminder Conso recommends not to consume the products, to report them and to consult a doctor in case of symptoms after ingestion.
