From maritime provinces to the extreme West Canadian, the 12 selected painters found themselves around strong electronic music, a good and creative atmosphere.
Go around the rules of art galleries
By creating “Art Battle” in 2011, Chris Pemberton and Simon Plashkes allow artists to have visibility and highlight their talent.

The two founders ofArt Battle, Chris Pemberton and Simon Plashkes, created an event during which the public can vote for his favorite work and buy it by silent awards. The money raised is then divided in two, with a share given to the artist.
We welcome everyone, both the public and collectors and the artists. Whatever your style, whatever your interest.
A way to get around the rules of major art galleries as Simon Plashkes specifies: There is a kind of ivory tower in art that decides what good art is, which will bring money. So we thought it would be fun to let the public decide
.
Absent in the Canada National Championship
Several Canadian provinces and territories have been absent from the national championship this year, such as Alberta, Yukon and Manitoba.
The artists have 20 minutes for painter a work of art. The tournament takes place in two laps followed by a final made up of the two winners of each round.

For the two founders, this is due to the absence of regular tournaments see the absence of franchises. On the other hand, Ontario is very represented with competitions in Toronto, Ottawa or London and Hamilton.
Soon a world championship?
Art Battle Now has several franchises in Canada, but also worldwide, such as in the United States, New Zealand and even in Thailand.
If I have advice to give to artists : Make your best painting during the 1st round and then make a better one for the final.
A global competition ofArt Battle? We plan to organize a world championship. We are therefore currently looking for solid partners to achieve it
says Chris Pemberton. If the project is carried out, it could take place in Toronto.
