Called Summaries message, this new feature should first be activated from the parameters, first going in “Confidentiality”, then “Advanced Parameters”. Once this will be the case, you just have to click on “unread messages” Inside the conversation so that AI makes you a summary in the form of a flea list.

A risk to data protection?
You should also know that only the person who has activated the functionality will be able to use it, the other people in the group will not be informed. Note that no precision is provided regarding voice messages, although WhatsApp has already offered their transcription for several months.
As for the question of data protection, Meta assures in her press release that this function “Use Private Processing technology, which allows Meta AI to generate an answer without Meta or WhatsApp never seeing your messages or private summaries.” Nevertheless, as the site points out Digital, “To date, it is difficult to verify these words.”
These summaries of messages by AI are now available for English-speaking people in the United States. They should arrive in other languages and other countries during the year 2025.
