Quebec recorded record temperatures reaching 34.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday, but a return to seasonal norms of around 26 ° C will be observed during the week.
A cold front will cross the province from west to east, bringing a refreshment to Montreal at the start of the afternoon on Wednesday.
Significant precipitation is scheduled for Wednesday throughout Quebec territory, with “flooding possibilities in certain regions”.
Note that the province has suffered from a lack of rain since the end of July, which increases the risk of forest fires.
“It will do good, rain, hoping that there is not too much damage,” said environmental meteorologist Canada Julien Pellerin.
The intense heat will nevertheless return during the weekend, with a humidx up to 40.
For the rest of August, temperatures should find seasonal values, with heat peaks from “one or two days, but not as long as it is at the moment,” said Pellerin.
It is advisable to hydrate abundantly and adapt your activities according to heat until Wednesday.
