Congestion to be expected: here are the sites at the head of the bridges for the start of the school year

Return to work and back to school could cause many headaches to motorists who circulate at the head of the bridges. Several projects will be underway in September in the sector. Here’s what you need to know.

Closure of the Saint-Louis path

A section of Chemin Saint-Louis will be completely closed to traffic for about two weeks in early September.

In the weeks preceding and following this complete closure, work -study periods are planned by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD), which admits that congestion episodes are to be expected. The obstacles should be lifted around October 24.

Despite the work, access to shops will be maintained by Chemin Saint-Louis. Pedestrians and cyclists will also be able to circulate on the artery.

Stage bridge on Route 175

A temporary staging bridge has been in service since the end of July on the 175 route. The use of it will allow the demolition and reconstruction of the current staging bridge over the railway.

Boulevard Laurier

The construction of the tunnel reserved for public transport is still underway and will continue until 2027.

The MTMD Specifies that the underground part of the tunnel is finished, but that work remains to be done to finalize the hopper is of the tunnel and the reconstruction of the Chaussée du Boulevard Laurier, between Avenue Lavigerie and the road to the church.
