Two young journalists from Boulevard Voltaire were attacked on Friday evening in Nanterre on Friday evening as they covered the “Justice for Nahel” rally, organized for the second anniversary of the death of Nahel Merzouk.
The facts occurred after the speech of the various left mayor of Nanterre Raphaƫl Adam, while the latter, receding in front of any clientelism, had just announced the installation of a plaque in the name of Nahel as if it were a hero fallen for France.

The audience was sparse, only a hundred people had answered the call, but alongside Nahel’s mother were in particular the deputy LFI Ali Diouara, the activist Assa TraorĆ©, … and a Palestinian flag! What report? However, the attempt to converge left struggles was not enough to bring the crowds.
Indifferent mediators
As soon as on site, BV journalists noted that the police shone by their absence … No uniform to which to orient themselves in the event of a problem. Only “mediators” of the city of Nanterre – recognizable by their flocked red jersey – had been deployed, supposed to ensure security. Except that they did not move an inch, any more than the personalities present, when the invectives, the insults and the threats began to fall on our colleagues from a small group of antifas, quickly joined by a dozen others. Bottles were thrown on BV’s equipment, the order to release was shot. One of the two journalists suddenly was violently struck … in the back. Faced with the hostile crowd, LS had to retreat and leave. It was then that a man presenting himself as a font in civilian clothes approached them to recommend that they go to file a complaint. Obviously, in Nanterre, the police are forced to hide to have the right to go to certain districts.

Nanterre mediators
The editorial staff of Boulevard Voltaire is proud of his two young journalists who have behaved admirably, keeping their blood cold, leaving only after being forced and without being intimidated or having responded to provocations.
He is however deeply disturbing and revolting that in France, journalists are thus molested and prevented from exercising their profession. Boulevard Voltaire will file a complaint.
