Emergency: Switzerland signs a letter that denounces the situation in Gaza

24 countries of the European Union and besides again broadcast a joint letter on Tuesday to denounce the famine situation in the Gaza Strip and demand to end it urgently.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAE) has communicated on X: “Switzerland has joined other states in a declaration expressing its deep concern in the face of new registration restrictions imposed on NGOs, which could force essential humanitarian actors to leave the occupied Palestinian territories, thus aggravating the crisis in Gaza”.

Last July, the department headed by Ignazio Cassis joined a similar letter asking Israel, “as an occupying power”, to respect humanitarian rights. Today we find the same countries signatory to this new alert: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Luituania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
