GBOARD offers a new automatic filling shortcut allowing to browse and easily enter passwords and payment words recorded on a Google account. Practical !
Inserted by default on Android devices, GBOARD has established itself as one of the virtual keyboards most popular with users. This is hardly surprising since it offers smartphones holders a series of very practical functions, such as a floating keyboard, gif research, integrated Google research, but also a series of personalization options and the management of more than a hundred languages. But the Mountain View firm does not intend to stop there! This time, she attacks passwords, adding an automatic filling shortcut which allows you to look manually from the keyboard in your passwords and your payment information recorded on the Google account.
Gboard: an automatic filling shortcut
So far, like most smartphones keyboards, Gboard could offer passwords and payment means from your favorite or stored password manager in your Google account. A very practical function that saves time. But, sometimes, the application can make mistakes, as confused by passwords or simply not to start. This is also a problem if you have several accounts or passwords for one and the same service.
Also, GBOARD now has a new shortcut “Automatic filling with Google” to fill out identification and payment information, making these processes much faster and more reliable than before. It begins to be deployed now in the stable version 15.7.4.787916401 of the application, as identified by Android Authority. To activate it, you must go to the virtual keyboard settings and check the corresponding option. The function will then appear in the shortcut grid via a square icon with an asterisk and a corner pencil. Note that you can move it to the suggestion bar as you wish.
Then press it, which will display two options: “passwords” and “payment methods”. If you select the first, the automatic filling will display the recorded identifiers for the application you are currently using, which will save you from being overwhelmed. As for the second, it will display your recorded cards, but you will have to enter the security code of any credit or debit card before using it. Practical !
