This overpowered mini PC does better than the Mac Studio

Beelink has just struck a blow by launching his GTR9 Pro, a high -end mini PC equipped with the overpowered Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. And which offers much more than the Mac Studio for much cheaper.

Beelink never stops going upmarket. A few months ago, this great mini PC specialist had already made an impression with his excellent Ser8, a model with breathtaking performance and premium design sold less than 500 euros (see our test). Not content with using superb metal boxes, the Chinese manufacturer had also innovated by starting to integrate power supplies in certain models – as in the EQR6 – or by developing a reception station for a dedicated graphics card – with the GTI13 Ultra.

Beelink GTR9 PRO: A real competitor of Mac Studio

This time, Beelink goes even further – and even much further – with his GTR9 Pro. Because this brand new model is not content to compete with the competition: clearly positioned in the very high end, it promises to surpass everything that currently exists in this area thanks to extraordinary equipment. Better still, with its Ryzen Ai Max+ 395, one of the most powerful new generation processors in AMD, it pays the luxury of doing better than the famous Apple Mac Studio, for less than half of the price. Enough to shake the market by establishing a new reference.

The reference to Mac Studio is not accidental. Because the GTR9 Pro has several similarities with the computer for Apple creatives. Starting with its luxurious silver metal case. If the resemblance is undeniable, it should be noted that Beelink had inaugurated this modern design even before Apple revives the format of its Mac Mini with the M4 version. It is therefore surprising that the GTR9 Pro takes up the chassis of its predecessors in larger (180 x 180 x 91 mm). And this enlargement is not an aesthetic whim: it is necessary to integrate the many elements that constitute the GTR9 Pro.

Beelink GTR9 PRO: latest -crying technologies

First, its Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and its cooling device with steam room and double fan. An essential system for this new generation competition engine (Strix Halo) with 16 cores and 32 threads which can run at 5.1 GHz and which incorporates a powerful Radeon 8060S graphical circuit at 40 calculation units as well as an NPU with 50 tops for IA treatments. And to offer this small racing car all the comfort it deserves, Beelink has the GTR9 Pro with 128 GB fast fast memory as standard-LPDDR5X-8000 modules welded on the motherboard-and a very high speed SSD with PCLE 4.0 X4, with two M locations; 2280 for maximum storage of 8 TB.

That’s not all: the GTR9 PRO also has a memory card reader, USB-C sockets in USB 4 to 40 Gbit/s and USB-A in USB 3.2 to 10 gbits, Ethernet ports at 10 Gbit/s, and, for wireless communications, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 module. In short, the total in terms of state -of -the -art technologies! Not to mention that to offer a complete machine, Beelink has equipped with GTR9 Pro with speakers, microphones associated with a voice recognition system and a comfortable 230 W integrated power.

But the most important thing is still the power delivered. For the Ryzen Ai Max+ 395, AMD announces a cumulative total of 126 tops, between the CPU, the GPU and the NPU, which is impressive. And on the graphic side, Beelink claims performance equivalent to an NVIDIA RTX4070 chip: enough to run demanding 3D games in very good conditions, with a high image rate (FPS) and a high level of details. And by combining its HDMI, DisplayPort and USB 4 sockets, the GTR9 Pro can control up to four screens simultaneously, up to 8K to the manufacturer also ensures that the GTR9 Pro can act as a professional workstation, including for the local AI, notably taking advantage of its two very high speed ethernet ports. All without turning into a blower, since Beelink announces a sound level of the order of only 32 DBA.

Beelink GTR9 PRO: A breathtaking equipment/Price

Of course, you will have to wait for complete tests to find out what this new toy really has in the belly. But the measurements made with reference benchmarks on the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 have something already dizzy, the AMD chip being credited with more than 2,3,500 points in Passmark and 3,3960 points in Cinebench R23 in multicaters. For comparison, the M4 Max 16 Cores which equips one of the best versions of the Mac Studio is satisfied with 4,3800 points and 2,7400 points respectively, still in multicoors – but it is slightly better in monocurence.

Come if this was not enough, the new flag of Beelink drives the point of prices: with 128 GB of RAM and an SD of 2 TB, the GTR9 Pro is sold less than 2000 dollars – about 2000 euros -, when a Mac Studio M4 Max equipped in the same way is billed more than … 5000 euros! Of course, Apple Apple Afficionados will argue that MacOS is much better finished than Windows 11 and that Macs benefit from an excellent manufacturing quality, which is true. Nevertheless: at this price, and with this equipment, the GTR9 Pro may rebatter cards in the high -performance computers market.
