Every 36 seconds, one person dies: this phenomenon increases during the summer

During the summer, people go out, enjoy the good weather, go on vacation, but for other people, this is not at all the case. Loneliness is greatly amplified during the summer season … and can be deadly.

The summer period often rhymes with evenings with friends, barbecues, holidays, or simply do activities. However, people are not so lucky and quickly find themselves isolated, even more in the summer season.

According to the WHO, loneliness kills a person every 36 seconds, and this increases in summer. Isolated people are even more so, because friends, family are not there, on vacation, or simply not available. The elderly are often affected, but also the youngest. This loneliness is responsible for many suicides.

A phenomenon accentuated by social networks

With the arrival of social networks, additional pressure settles. We see everyone posting a story, or photos of their vacation place, with friends or as a couple. This greatly increases loneliness since social pressure settles in these isolated people.

Also be careful, heat and strong light can increase anxiety linked to summer.
