Stellantis has launched a rare scale reminder: nearly 238,000 cars traveling in France must go back to the workshop. The automotive group, owner of the Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Fiat brands, identified a defect on a very widespread engine. Forgetting or loosening a simple nut in the fuel supply circuit can cause leaks, lead to the light of a light … and, in the worst case, a fire start. The case was made public via the CONSO Reminder Government Site, which lists security alerts.

A technical detail, but a serious threat. According to Stellantis, exactly 237,992 vehicles registered in France are affected by this preventive recall. The models equipped with the 1.2 Turbo EB2 Gen3 petrol engine are on the front line: Citadines, SUV and latest generation sedans.
The figures give the measure: 149,157 Peugeot, 54,803 Citroën, 15,263 Opel, 7,184 Fiat and 5,932 DS must iron by the workshop. Other brands in the group, such as Jeep, Alfa Romeo or Lancia, are also affected in Europe. This recall is added to a long list: in July, more than 600,000 1.5 BlueHDi diesel vehicles had already been recalled.
The problem identified is in the high pressure bond between the pump and the injection ramp. In case of loosening or lack of nut, fuel can escape. In addition to petrol odors, an engine indicator can light up. In the worst scenarios: a fire. A new episode which comes only a few months after other massive reminders of the group, notably linked to the Puretech engine.
The owners have been receiving a registered letter for a few days inviting them to make an appointment. The intervention, free and fast, consists in checking and tightening the criminal fixings. A barely thirty -minute operation, but which avoids a major risk.
These cascade reminders participate in a year already qualified as “catastrophic” for Stellantis, weighed down by its financial results and disputed strategic choices. And beyond the mechanical anecdote, this case illustrates the fragility of a production chain where a tiny forgetfulness can lead to massive consequences. A literal recall bite on the importance of technical vigilance in a sector where security remains the first requirement.
