an aggressive passenger of an Air France flight forces the plane to turn around

The flight was to link Paris to Dakar in Senegal but the company’s Boeing 777 did not exceed Bordeaux.

Shocked passengers and an airplane that must turn around. This Saturday, August 16, a flight from the Air France company between Paris and Dakar was disrupted by a very agitated passenger.

Less than two hours after takeoff, this passenger started strolling in the corridor, screaming and threw herself on the cabin chief, trying to strangle him, screaming “I want to kill”. She was then mastered by the navigating staff with the help of a doctor who was on board.

A serious situation which obviously prompted the captain to decide to immediately turn around Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport while the device flew over Bordeaux.

The emergency services and the police intervened during the landing of the Boeing 777 in order to take charge of the very agitated passenger. For passengers, it was still necessary to wait for a new crew to be mobilized that the plane could leave for its final destination. It must be said that the attacked cabinet was very shocked by the event. The flight was able to start from Paris at 9:27 p.m. An investigation has been opened and prosecution against the passenger are envisaged.

Air France evokes “inappropriate behavior”

Contacted by BFM Business, Air France “confirms that the crew of flight AF718 of August 16, 2025 carrying out the connection between Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle and Dakar decided to return to its starting airport because of the inappropriate behavior of a customer, requiring that it be mastered by crew members with the help of customers and supported by a voluntary doctor.

“The client was apprehended by the police on arrival in Paris-Charles de Gaulle after the landing of the flight at 7:31 pm (local time) and entrusted to the medical service of the airport,” continues the company.

“Air France regrets the inconvenience that this event has been able to provoke for other customers traveling on board theft and recalls that the security of its customers and crews is its absolute priority. In the event of a medical emergency, cabin staff are trained in first aid. If necessary, they can get closer to health professionals present on board. It is in this context that this doctor could be asked by crew.”
