The small business that was born in 2020 is launching a first Quebec application to help patients leave the doctor’s office with a clear idea of what was told, as well as the follow -up to be done.

“Patients forget between 40 % and 80 % of the information communicated to them by the doctor,” said the entrepreneur during an interview with The press. It is not related to age or state of health. Stress and anxiety have something to do with it, as is the complexity of the terms used by health professionals.

The application will be offered free of charge on Apple and Google platforms. With his mobile device, the patient can record the conversation with his doctor. He will receive within a very short time a popularized report of the diagnosis made or the prescribed treatment, and the follow -up he must make.
Known to the health network
Francis Robichaud acknowledges that doctors may have reluctance that their conversations with their patients are recorded and treated with a third party. To overcome these reluctance, the patient will have access to the summary of his consultation and the source audio file will not be available.
Lime Health is first and foremost a technology company, says its founder, who is an IT engineer. It has designed a platform already used by health establishments in Quebec to measure their results with patients. Emilia will be added to the services offered on this platform.
It is these users, hospitals, family medicine groups and medical clinics, who will be the customers and who will encourage the use ofEmilia by their patients.
Lime Health is advised by doctors, including Doctor Pascal St-Germain, company vice-president of the company. It employs around twenty people, all of telework.
