WhatsApp now allows you to plan audio and video calls

WhatsApp incorporates new tools into its audio and video calls. Now you can plan them to better organize yourself. And to facilitate exchanges, you can now raise your hand or use reactions.

There is not a month without WhatsApp receiving new functions or improvements. Recently, the app has continued to evolve with a host of new products, especially for its audio and video calls, so as to suit both discussions with friends and more professional uses. After improving the sound quality of calls, increased the number of participants and even hosted a new interface, instant messaging welcomes new functions, such as the possibility of planning calls, inviting participants in advance, and “raising your hand” to ask. A bit like what Zoom, Google Meet or Teams offer, which Meta clearly seeks to compete.

Whatsapp: planned calls, hand -raised and reactions

If WhatsApp is very practical to call someone, it is not always easy to do it immediately, for reasons of availability. This is even more complicated if the conversation involves several participants. Also, Meta announced in a blog post the introduction of a function to program a call.

To do this, simply press the “+” button in the tab “calls, then on” Program a call “. This tab allows you to consult and manage all the calls to come, and find the list of people participating and the calls to add to your calendar to avoid missing the appointment. All participants will receive a notification when the call will be on the point of starting. One when someone joins the call.

In addition to that, Meta adds a “lifting hand” function, which allows a participant to point out that he wishes to speak, without cutting the person speaking in his momentum. It can therefore end quietly before passing the relay. This is a function found in competing videoconferencing platforms in WhatsApp. Finally, participants will be able to use “reactions” in order to participate in the conversation.
