Customs duties on the menu of a meeting between Ford and Carney

(Ottawa) The Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, and his Ontario counterpart, Doug Ford, meet in Ottawa on Monday morning, where there will be a question of trade with the United States.

During a speech at the start of the game, Carney said that the two leaders would discuss the sectors of steel and the automobile, hard hit by American customs duties, as well as housing and the economy.

The Minister responsible for Commerce Canada-United States, Dominic Leblanc, also arrived on Parliament hill on Monday morning.

Prime Minister Carney said Leblanc should take stock of the state of commercial negotiations with the Americans.

Doug Ford is in Ottawa on Monday for the conference of the Ontario Municipalities Association, which takes place until Wednesday.

Ford said he was planning Prime Minister Carney to reduce taxes to stimulate the economy in the face of American customs duties.

“I would like to salute the leadership of Prime Minister Ford of Ontario and then of the Federation Council for a crucial time for our country,” said Prime Minister Carney before the journalists before the meeting.
