In the United States, in Sartell, in Minnesota, a simple fishing part made it possible to resolve one of the most persistent mysteries of the State. While using a Sonar Garmin Liffcope, Brody Loch has spotted a car buried about six meters under the waters of the Mississippi, reports CBS News.
The man, from Watkins, discovered Saturday and returned there the next day with his family before alerting the authorities. The investigators confirmed that the vehicle, a Buick from the 1960s, belonged to Roy Benn, disappeared in 1967 after being seen leaving the King’s Supper Club. His disappearance had made the headlines of the local press at the time, some media saying that he was carrying a large sum of money.
Human remains inside the car
Sartll police chief Brandon Silgjord stressed the importance of the discovery. “Credit tones for a fisherman who has seen this and above all have the reflex to call sheriff,” he told CBS News. According to him, the means of investigation of the time had not made it possible to explore zones such as Mississippi or certain careers mentioned in the files.

Inside the vehicle, the investigators found human remains, most likely those of Roy Benn. Personal objects and clothes have also been recovered, items that could help reconstruct the circumstances of his death. The case is now in the hands of the Benton County Sheriff’s Bureau, which leads the analyzes to confirm the identity and try to lift the veil on a mystery that has crossed six decades.
