Record broke 40 m high for Guillaume Fontaine

Between the two bell towers of the Saint-Charles-de-Limoilou church, Cirque artist Guillaume Fontaine broke the world record for time spent on the hands on a strap.

The previous 47 -second record held by the Swiss Samuel Volery is therefore no longer relevant. The balancingist spent 58 seconds over his strap, head upside down, with a view of Limoilou and under the cheers of the crowd.

The images are striking: Guillaume Fontaine seems to float above the church while the sunlight fades quietly in the sky. Dozens of meters from the ground, the wind had the circus artist vacillated after 44 seconds during his very first attempt.

However, the second test was the right one: 58 seconds! Showed the host of the evening with a visibly very impressed audience.

Guillaume Fontaine also offered a performance by juggling a soccer ball on the strap a few minutes after establishing a new brand.

Guillaume Fontaine then released his soccer ball.

The artist already had a good roadmap in balancing on the strap (slackline). He is one of those who had broken the Guinness record for the longest journey traveled on a strap in 2018, or 1.9 km.
