Olivier Bianchi is worried about the city he directs. A new violent episode took place on Sunday evening in Clermont-Ferrand. It is therefore a black series for this city whose mayor denounces “a struggle between gangs”.
Around 11 pm, “two men born in 2005 and 2009 were injured by stabbing weapon in an apartment” in the Croix-de-Neyrat district, a priority area in the north of the city, a police source said. The adult was affected “more seriously on the right flank and the left arm”. His “vital prognosis is committed”. This assault was committed by two hooded people, according to another police source. The other victim, a minor, was slightly affected in the left hand and the temple. No police custody is in progress.
Detonations in the night
In addition, during the night of Sunday to Monday at 12:25 am, the police intervened in another district of the city for detonations, according to a police source. On the spot, they discovered three cases steeped in caliber 7.65 and 32. Two witnesses said they saw two attackers hooded in a vehicle. The shots did not hurt.
“Again two injured in what looks like a struggle between gangs to appropriate the network of our city. This spiral of violence is hellish. I remain determined to fight with the prefect against this scourge, ”reacted to X Mayor Olivier Bianchi (PS).
Drug trafficking pointed out
While stressing that it is too early to draw conclusions, the prefecture noted the existence of “settling of accounts between narcotrafiating networks”. The prefect of Puy-de-Dôme Joël Mathurin thus underlines “the need for general mobilization against drug trafficking, implying not only the security forces, but also the inhabitants, the owners, and the co-ownership unions”. He “calls for the vigilance of suspicious activities, stressing that the fight against drug trafficking is everyone’s business.”
Already last week, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a calcined body had been found in a burned car in the Croix-de-Neyrat district. The same night, a person had been shot in Clermont and houses targeted by criminal fires in the suburbs. Some of these facts, which sometimes took place in quiet neighborhoods, were identified by the police related to drug trafficking.
