Prohibition to swim in the AAR in Bern due to work

Navigation and swimming in the AAR in Bern will be subject to restrictions from September 22 to next spring. The City of Bern took this measure for security reasons due to work intended to renovate the Marzili outdoor pool and strengthen flood protection.

(Keystone-ATS) Swimming and navigation will no longer be authorized between the Eichholz campsite and the Dalmazibrücke, a section of the AAR in Bern borrowed during hot summer days by thousands of people, whether swimming or on pneumatic canoes.

From September, the water temperature drops quickly and there are therefore far fewer people in the water, the city of Bern on Tuesday. Intrepid swimmers will have to fall back on the journey between the Altenberg district and the Lorraine swimming pool.

Construction work is closely coordinated and will take place in stages on several winter semesters, it will therefore be possible to swim in the AAR and in the Marzili swimming pool during the summer.
