Seven completely unpublished albums: with the Tracks II box, Bruce Springsteen revisits its archives centered around the 1990s.
In all, 83 songs including 74 entirely unpublished: with the publication Friday of Tracks II : The Lost Albumsthe American legend of rock Bruce Springsteen tries to say that the 1990s were, in reality, not lost for him.
Because for many fans, the native singer of New Jersey had suffered an empty passage before the turn of the century, when he was temporarily – separated from his historic group, the E Street Band.
“I often read on me that the 1990s were lost for me,” said the “boss” in a recent video on YouTube. “In fact, Patti (Editor’s note: Scialfa, his musician wife) and I had very young children at that time,” he adds to explain his slightest productivity. But “in reality, I worked all the time”.
Bruce Springsteen, voice of proletarian America known for his river concerts, says that she took advantage of the pandemic of COVID-19 to put the last hand to everything left in the drawers. The result: a large box of seven compilations of works composed between 1983 and 2018, but centered around the 1990s.

Bruce Springsteen is not the first to revisit his archives to get unpublished songs, even if it means publishing songs initially dismissed from first albums.
Bob Dylan had launched fashion with his Bootleg Series In 1991 (17 volumes published until 2023), and Springsteen had also followed in 1998 with Tracks. The collection Tracks II is a direct suite, and a third opus is planned.
