A violent thunderstorm causes damage in Haut-Valais
The emergency services had to intervene for a landslide on the Matthehorn-Gotthard-Bahn rail line and as part of several fires.

A violent thunderstorm in Mattertal caused a landslide on the Matthehorn-Gotthard-Bahn railway line. Firefighters also had to intervene in several other municipalities in Haut-Valais.
The rail line was interrupted between Kalpetran and Täsch, the line leading to Zermatt, said the company on the X platform. A replacement transport was set up between Täsch (VS) and Randa (VS).
The mud flow also touched the road. The firefighters were mobilized in Naters, Rarogne and Sankt Niklaus due to damage. Until now, Valais police have had no information on any injuries at the beginning of the evening.
Air Zermatt also received three alarms for the start of fire in Sankt Niklaus, Blatten Bei Naters and Oberems. The lights could be quickly under control, said the airline in a communiqué.
