Identity card, driving license, vital card, insurance sticker … and now gray card. The dematerialization of our papers continues. Since Monday, June 30, it is possible to record your registration certificate on smartphone via France Identity.

“On the eve of vacation departures, the French can count on France Identity to leave the lighter mind, having their official titles at hand, always up to date, and accessible from their phone,” said France Titles (Ants). “A concrete advance in the service of all: citizens, police, automotive professionals,” said Florence Guillaume, interministerial delegate for road safety.
Enough to relieve more than one driver, in case of forgetting or loss of the precious document, during a road check.
Who can have their gray card on their smartphone?
To obtain a digital version of your gray card, you must first be registered as holder, co-holder or private tenant (including in the event of leasing) of the vehicle in order to be able to import it on its smartphone. France titles specifies that it “is possible to have several gray cards at the same time in the France Identity application”.

Also, French registration at AA-123-AA format is required, and the vehicle must belong to one of the following categories:
- cars
- Motorized tricycles and quadricycles
- two or three -wheeled moped
- motorcycle
How to do it?
If you don’t already have it, you must download the France Identity Application on your mobile in order to download the gray card. The user must be of French nationality and aged 18 or over, but also hold an identity card in a bank card format.
Once the application is opened, just enter the information on the gray card; to enter your Personal Code France Identity; Then launch the reading in NFC of the identity card.
