From the academic year 2026/2027, there will be no more admission restrictions to the Bachelor sector in nursing from the Bernese Haute Ecole (BFH). The canton of Bern improves the conditions to combat the shortage of qualified personnel and implement the initiative on nursing.
(Keystone-ATS) “All interested persons with the level of training and the required personal ability will have access to study places in the nursing sector,” said the canton on Tuesday. The restriction of admissions could be lifted thanks to the close collaboration between the BFH, the Directorate of Public Instruction and Culture and the Directorate of Health, Social Affairs and Integration of the Canton of Bern and to organizational measures.
In the coming months, the BFH will create the conditions required on the organizational level to guarantee a registration procedure without admission restriction in the nursing sector.
