Favorites, program, France in the death group … The Guide to the Women’s Euro

An appointment not to be missed. From this Wednesday, all eyes are turned to Switzerland, where the Euro 2025 female arises. Until July 27, sixteen nations will compete for a place for the final. With very raised groups and a competition that may offer us high level spectacle.

Competition favorites

Placed in group A, the organizing nation can consider itself quite lucky. And for good reason, Switzerland will face Finland, Iceland and Norway during this group stage in an attempt to reach the quarter -finals of the competition. This is not at all the case of group B. The Italians, the Portuguese and the Spanish will fight until the last day in order to get out of this group phase. If the Iberian, reigning world champions, are great favorites, Alexia Potellas and her teammates have never won the Euro. Spain had only one semi-final in 1997 and intends to put an end to this surprising scarcity in the world of women’s football.

Within group C, Germany also presents itself as the scarecrow of the competition. The Mannschaft has not won the tournament since 2013, despite its eight titles. In the midst of a revolution, the players of Christian Wück will try to fill up in confidence during the group stage, facing revengeful Danes, the Poles and the Swedes. Like group B, group D is presented as that of death. You will have to be a guess to predict the final classification of this hen.

France in the death group

A group of which the French women’s team is a part. Laurent Bonadei and his troops will start their competition with a shock against the reigning European champions: England. The British are, like Spain, presented as favorites of this Euro 2025. The Lionesses will however have to be wary of the Netherlands and the Pays-de-Gales, which do not intend to leave the field free to the two giants, which will compete this Saturday on the occasion of the shock of the first day. The Bleues, who reached their first semi-final during the last edition, intend to get the first title in their history in Switzerland. To do this, they will first have to get out of the death group.
