It is among other things thanks to reports of citizens relayed by the Basse Basins (OBV) Charlevoix-Montmorency that the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) conducted an operation on Sunday, in the northern sector of Boischatel and in the Trois-Sauults sector.
The complaints concerned nuisance by noise, illegal VHR traffic on private properties, not marked or reserved trails reserved for snowmobiles, which were “until compromising the safety of hikers or harming the wildlife and flora of the sector”.
Two quaddist police officers therefore carried out an intensive operation in the trails on Sunday, and observed sixty vehicles, where they should not be.
“A large majority has fled at the sight of the police”, which is in itself an offense, reports the SQ.
The agents still intercepted and expelled 24 off -road vehicles.
Seven infraction observations and ten warnings were given to users of the trails. Other observations could be issued according to the advancement of surveys.
