On July 1, 2025, in Brest, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa formalized its signature of the LGBT+ engagement charter of the other circle. This highly symbolic act is part of an assertive CSR dynamic, which began in 2023 by the Breton cooperative group.
LGBT+ inclusion: a structured commitment at the heart of the corporate strategy
Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, a mission company since 2022, strengthens its social responsibility by becoming a signatory of the LGBT+ charter of the other circle. This organization, a national reference on the challenges of diversity in a professional environment, alerts each year on worrying data: 46 % of LGBT+ people fear coming to work at work, 25 % have been victims of aggression within their business, and 70 % prefer not to reveal the sex of their partner.
In response, the group has built a Concrete medium -term action plancombining awareness, training, dissemination of resources and enhancement of internal initiatives. This is not a communication operation, but a structuring axis within the “Faire 2030” strategic plan.
A collective dynamic driven by employees and carried by the Comex
The approach is not a downward process. As early as 2023, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa initiated an inclusion strategy co-constructed with HR teams, administrators, managers and employees. It is on this basis that a community of 300 diversity ambassadorsdivided into 20 embassies. Among these, a group dedicated to LGBT+ challenges designed a awareness workshop intended to be distributed to all the group’s employees.
“The company must be a space for security, equality and fulfillment. The signing of this charter marks a new advance to support these values within Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, ”says Julien CarmonaPresident of the group
Crédit Mutuel Arkéa: an action that goes beyond the symbolic framework
This signature is only a stage point. For Véronique CrouzierDirectors Dynamic & Human Relations and member of the Executive Committee: “She is at the heart of an ambitious, concrete and measurable global plan, aimed at creating a professional environment in which each of our collaborators can be fully self-employed”.
The gesture has all the more scope since it is the first company whose headquarters are located in Brittany to sign this charter. Sophie DelannoyAssistant secretary general of the other circle, insists on this territorial dimension: “thanks to the territorial network of the group, through the Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne and the Crédit Mutuel du Sud-Ouest, … Arkéa will contribute to giving these issues a new and precious visibility”.
