Switzerland remains a strategic target for spies in a context of international tensions. The Confederation Intelligence Service (SRC) also identifies jihadist terrorism as a serious threat to its annual report published on Wednesday.
We can see the contours of a world confrontation between, on the one hand, the United States, and on the other, China and Russia on the one hand, notes the SRC. Consequence: as the headquarters of many international organizations and innovation center, Switzerland is in the sights of foreign intelligence services, primarily Russian and Chinese.
Russia, Iran and North Korea are also trying more and more to obtain double -use goods and technologies for their military and nuclear programs via Switzerland.
The terrorist threat inspired by jihadism against Jewish and Israeli interests is also still raised in Switzerland. Young online radicalization is a major challenge, early detection is essential, says the SRC.
