A 26-year-old man was stabbed early Wednesday at the corner of Boulevard Saint-Laurent and rue Sainte-Catherine, in downtown Montreal.
It was in response to a call housed at 911 to 3:21 that the police discovered the young man injured by a stabbing weapon “at the top of the body”, specifies the police service in the city of Montreal (SPVM). He was aware and was transported to a hospital center, where we are not afraid for his life.
After research, two suspects aged 24 and 26 was located and arrested on board a vehicle near the intersection of rue Fairmount and avenue du Parc, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal arrondissement. The two suspects were transferred to the investigation center where they will be questioned. “The circumstances surrounding this armed assault are currently unknown,” said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.
A perimeter has been erected in order to protect the scene for investigators, as well as for technicians in judicial identity so that they can analyze the scene and try to understand the exact circumstances of this event. Checks will be made from nearby surveillance cameras.
Boulevard Saint-Laurent was closed to traffic on Wednesday morning, from rue Sainte-Catherine.
