Airlines are called upon to cancel 40 % of their flights at the start or arrival of the Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports on Friday, the day before a summer vacation, due to a strike by air controllers, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation announced on Wednesday.
These requirements of the administration are higher than those on Thursday, the first day of social movement, when a quarter of thefts are suppressed in Parisian airports. In Nice, the third French platform, these cancellations will concern half of the links on Friday, as Thursday.
Beauvais Airport, a bastion of “low cost”, will also be imposed on a 40 %flight reduction, the DGAC said in a press release.
The south of France also very disturbed
In addition to Nice, the south of France will remain particularly affected, since the companies will have to cancel 30 % of their flight programs in Lyon, Marseille and Montpellier, as well as in Corsican airports (Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari).
Traffic should already be very disrupted Thursday at Paris airports and from the south of France, after a call for the strike of two unions of Sky Steers to defend their working conditions.
From a source close to the file, it is indicated that business aviation will also be very affected by this conflict.
