It is a new deal between American streaming giants and French channels. After TF 1 which has teamed up with Netflix a fortnight ago, it is now the France Television group which concluded an agreement with Prime Video.
This is already effective and allows subscribers of the video platform on American demand to consult “without additional expenses” and on its interface the more than 20,000 content offered by FranceTV.
This surprise partnership, whose amount and duration has not filtered, delights Delphine Ernotte. The CEO of France Television believes that with “this unprecedented mode of distribution, our group takes a historic step to strengthen the visibility of its public service offer”.
From direct channels to France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5 and Franceinfo, to programs in “Preview” and “Replay”, France Television has managed to diversify in recent years. The digital channel now with 42.9 million monthly visitors in June.
Touching a younger and wider audience
She hopes with this new agreement to reach a younger audience. French people aged 15-24 consume 5:21 minutes each day but mainly on social networks (2 hours), in front of free TV (1h) and videos on demand by subscription (1h), according to a study in 2025 of the audiovisual regulator, Arcom.
This agreement must “allow all audiences to find and discover the unique wealth of France.TV on new environments”, slips Delphine Ernotte-Cuni.
On the side of the American platform with its 1.4 million daily connections in France, the agreement is part of a wider strategy. “Expand the quality content offer offered to our customers and confirm Prime Video as the number 1 destination for entertainment,” explains Christophe Deguine, Director General of Prime Video in France.
The platform held by the Amazon online commerce giant already offered, with additional subscriptions, access to other platforms like Max, Paramount +, Ciné + OCS, Universal + and MGM +, alongside 43 additional channels.
This partnership concluded with France Télévisions is not the first between the two platforms. The black heart series had for example been co -produced by the two streaming giants.
