It was 4:17 am this Thursday morning when the emergency services were called for an accident at a place called La Fougère in Gourdon, a commune near Montceau-les-Mines, on the departmental road 980.
Five minors aboard the vehicle
About twenty firefighters went there. Five minors were on board the vehicle. One of them, the front passenger, a 13 -year -old boy, died. Another is in serious condition but its vital prognosis is not engaged. The other three were slightly injured. The wounded were transported to Chalon, Montceau and Le Creusot hospitals. It appears that the driver was 15 years old. The five are educated in the same college in Montceau.
In a press release, the prefecture of Saone-et-Loire indicates that it is five Montcellians. The circumstances of the accident remain to be clarified and a judicial inquiry has been opened but what we already know is that “the vehicle, followed remotely by the police, made a road trip”.
A refusal to comply before the accident
The origin of the chase could be a refusal to comply adolescents. According to some information, it would be produced in Montceau. The young people would then have taken the direction of Gourdon, headlights extinct, by the departmental before missing a turn. The Peugeot went behind the safety slide and finished its race in a tree. The first to intervene at the place of the accident were the police.
Among the information that has not yet been confirmed, it appears that the Peugeot would belong to the driver’s father.
No questioning of the police for the time being
The Chalon-sur-Saône prosecutor’s office said that the police who followed the car will be heard as witnesses during the investigation. According to a police source, at this stage of the investigation it appears that the police who followed the car of young people are not implicated in the accident. The 15 -year -old passenger, seriously injured, was taken care of by the emergency teams. The driver, 16, was more slightly injured.
