At least two people were killed and ten injured in a Russian strike Thursday in Poltava, in the center-east of Ukraine, emergency services announced. The army evokes a shot having affected one of its recruitment centers.

(Keystone-ATS) “On July 3, the enemy struck the city of Poltava. A fire broke out on the scene. Civil infrastructure has been damaged, “deplored the regional governor, Volodymyr Kogout, on Telegram.

“According to first information, two people were killed and ten others injured,” the Ukrainian help for their part. The Ukrainian army has confirmed the Russian attack, evoking “dead and wounded” against “a recruitment center”, without however giving an assessment at this stage.

Another Russian attack on the port city of Odessa in the south of the country, for its part was six injured, according to a new assessment published by the emergency services.

American deliveries stopped

These Russian strikes intervene after the United States has announced that it had interrupted the delivery of certain weapons to Ukraine, including, according to American media, Patriot’s anti-aircraft defense systems, essential for kyiv to counter the missile and drone Moscow attacks.

However, Russia has increased attacks on Ukraine in recent weeks, in the absence of diplomatic advances with a view to conflict settlement, after almost three and a half years of Russian invasion which led to the death of several tens of thousands of people, civil and military.

To limit the Russian strikes and deregulate the logistics of the forces of Moscow, the Ukrainian army tries, for its part, to attack Russia directly on its soil.

Drone attack

During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, Ukrainian drone strikes killed one and two injured in the Russian region of Lipetsk, about 400 km southeast of Moscow, according to local authorities.

Drones have also caused a fire on the site of a company in the city of Ielets – in the same region where several industrial complexes are located – without making a victim, according to the regional governor Igor Artamonov.

Andriï Kovalenko, spokesperson for the Ukrainian government center responsible for fighting disinformation, confirmed kyiv’s “attack”, ensuring that this Russian site “manufactures batteries for the guide and correction of missiles” for the army, especially for the missiles “Iskander and for cruise missiles”.
