(Salaberry-de-Valleyfield) The mother of the 3-year-old girl abandoned on the edge of a highway faces a new accusation of criminal negligence. The survey of the mother’s release started on Thursday at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse on Thursday.
Already accused of a child’s abandonment leader, at the end of June, the 34 -year -old woman is now accused of having caused injuries to her daughter by her criminal negligence by omitting to give her “things necessary for life”.
We cannot name the accused not to reveal the identity of the child.
The crown opposes the release of the accused. As is often the case at this stage of the judicial process, a large non-publication ordinance covers the entire proof presented Thursday to the survey on release. This prevents us from telling the testimonies and observations of lawyers. An investigator is at the helm on Thursday morning.
In the accused box, the 34 -year -old woman seemed upset for a good part of the hearing. She has often wiped tears.
The “girl from the room” was found healthy and saved, on June 18, in eastern Ontario. Research to find the child was followed by Quebec in full for days.
Me Lili Prévost-Gravel represents the prosecution, while Me Olivier Béliveau defends the accused.
