A man, 69 -year -old Swiss national, died Wednesday evening during a diving accident in Lake Thoune, Gunten (BE), commune of Sigriswil. An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.
(Keystone-ATS) The individual, living in the canton of Bern, died on the spot. According to the first elements, two people made a dive, when, for reasons still to be determined, one of the divers found himself in difficulty up to the Diving site of Enteneck, the Bernese cantonal police said on Thursday.
His diving partner, as well as third parties present, were able to get him out of the water and immediately began to provide him with first aid, pursued by the intervention forces dispatched on the spot. In addition to the cantonal police services, the intervention mobilized a team of paramedics and a regau’s helicopter.
The section of the Sestrasse concerned had to be briefly closed to traffic for the purposes of the intervention, the statement said. An investigation was opened under the leadership of the Bernese Oberland Regional Oberland.
