BMW Canada has unveiled an ultra-limited edition of its 5 series, reserved exclusively for our market. Called 540i xdrive Legacy Edition, this sports sedan will be produced in only 151 copies. A rarity that risks quickly passing from exhibition rooms to collector garages.
A 6-cylinder online
What makes this 540i unique is its 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder engine. This block develops 375 horsepower and 398 lb-pi of torque, assisted by a slight hybridization system of 48 V. combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and with full xdrive cog, all propels the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
So far, only the 550th PHEV variant offered a six -cylinder engine in Canada, but it was delivered with a charging cable. For purists, Legacy Edition is a nod to a more purely mechanical era.
Colors that pay tribute to history
Each 540i Legacy Edition can be ordered, at no additional cost, with an exclusive color of the BMW Individual Manufaktur program. The model presented here has the Maldives Black II metallic, a color inspired by the 5 E34 series, the first to wear the 540i badge. This model marked the entry of the V8 and the six -speed manual transmission in the range.
Among the other shades offered, we find: Oxford Green, Black Blue, Cinabar Red, Grigio Telesto, Frozen Black and Sepang Bronze.
As standard, each copy offers:

- • A Bowers & Wilkins audio channel at 18 speakers

A price in the six figures
BMW has not yet formalized the price, but everything suggests that it will exceed $ 100,000. Orders are already open, and the first deliveries are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
Loans of uncompromising six-cylinder engines, hurry up: this edition could disappear faster than a 0-100 in 4.7 seconds.
