ES5 is designed to be a versatile portable SSD that offers flagship performance. Equipped with a USB-C port, the external disk can connect to a wide range of devices, including laptops and game consoles. In addition, it can be fixed magnetically to Magsafe compatible devices, such as recent iPhone for more convenience. According to Lexar, the ES5 supports direct recording of Apple Prore videos at 4K 60/120 FPS and Samsung Pro Video at 8k 30 FPS.
The external disk has transfer speeds up to 2,000 MB/s on USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, which allows users to quickly back up huge amounts of data. The automatic backup of photos and videos is also available in the Lexar application. Designed to last, ES5 is classified IP65 for resistance to dust and water and promises to survive falls up to three meters.
