A wall on rue Canada

For the past few weeks, the population of Saint-Quentin as well as people who have borrowed rue Canada can contemplate a mural filling the facade of an old trade (UAP).

The work was designed by multidisciplinary artist Serge V. Richard de Kedgwick.

Project of the businessman Jean-Claude Savoie (Savoie group), owner of the building in question, the mural aims to somehow a nod to the municipality, to its clearing, to the train which has marked its history and its agricultural and mountainous landscapes, and of course any maple leaves.

Mr. Richard took more than a year to make this wall, section by section. The sketch reproduced on a small scale (on a canvas) was gradually transposed on a set of 25 panels of 4 ‘x 8’.

“The project was designed in different sections, because the building coating is made of corrugated metal. We could not have done the work directly on this, it would have given a funny finish. Rather, it was designed on panels that I painted individually in my studio and which were then transported in order to be mounted on the facade of the building, ”says Richard, noting that these panels will be there in all seasons.

The wall was officially inaugurated on June 20.
