Société Générale denounces the Agreement on Teleworking, Standing Wind Unions: News

The management of Société Générale announced on Friday at unions the unilateral denunciation of the telework agreement in force in the company, leading the three unions at the origin of the recent mobilizations to call employees to amplify the dispute.

“Management informed the trade union organizations that it unilaterally denounced the January 2021 agreement” on telework, informing the CFDT, the CFTC and the CGT in a joint press release, denouncing a “contemptuous method”.

The three unions – who left the meeting before the end – deplore in their common text that management plans to “negotiate only on the development of the Slawomir Krupa Oukase”, the Director General of Société Générale, namely a maximum day of telework per week, while 70% of employees currently have at least two days.

“The threat is not a negotiation weapon,” said the three organizations in their press release.

The desire to “harmonize the policy of teleworking within the group” announced by Mr. Krupa in an email addressed to employees in mid-June, had already led the three unions to call a strike that they described as “very followed” last Friday.

The “all on -site” operation organized Thursday, July 3, intended to illustrate the logistical difficulties of the simultaneous return of all employees at their workplace, ended in “a globally 10% increase in the occupancy rate”, said a union source.

After Friday’s meeting, the CFDT, the CFTC and the CGT of Société Générale, which say they represent more than 60% of employees together, now call to “amplify the protest movement”.

For Société Générale unions, a reduction in the quotas of telework days would also be penalizing for the company itself, by affecting its attractiveness with future recruits.

Solicited by AFP, the SNB (National Union of the Bank), the first Societe Generale union and which is not associated with the movement initiated by the three other organizations, was not immediate.

Contacted by AFP, Société Générale confirmed the denunciation of the telework agreement but did not wish to make more comments.
