The UEFA, the leading body of European football, inflicted, Friday, July 4, from heavy fines on several major clubs including FC Barcelona and Chelsea for non-compliance with budgetary rules.
In a press release, UEFA formalized a series of decisions against Barça, Chelsea, Aston Villa, FC Porto and Hajduk Split, clubs not respected the supervision of income and expenses imposed by the body last season.
She also confirmed the agreement concluded with Olympique Lyonnais, administratively demoted in Ligue 2 by the National Management Control Directorate, the DNCG, for a total fine of 50 million euros suspended, including 12.5 million firm.
FC Barcelona and Chelsea are the two most heavily sanctioned clubs, with a suspended fine of 60 million euros respectively, including 15 million closed, for the Catalan giant, and 80 million euros, including 20 million closed, for the English team.

Spread over periods of two and four years, these stays are accompanied by several additional sanctions in the event of new violations of financial fair play, going as far as excluding European competitions.
Chelsea, the most spending club in Europe since the arrival of its new American owner Todd Boehly in 2022, also received an additional fine of 11 million euros, due to an overly high payroll.
The UEFA press release also specifies that several teams under increased surveillance, including PSG, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Olympique de Marseille, have currently fulfilled their financial obligations.
