Is Donald Trump’s mediation in the process of failing?
This new wave of attacks occurs after the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that he had a phone call “Very important and productive” With US President Donald Trump.
The two leaders discussed the way in which the Ukrainian air defenses could be reinforced, a possible joint production of weapons between the United States and Ukraine, and wider efforts carried out by the United States to end the war with Russia, according to Volodymyr Zelensky.
Asked Friday evening by journalists on this call, Donald Trump said: “We had a very good call, I think”.
Asked about the possibility of finding a way to end the fighting, he replied: “I don’t know. I can’t tell you if it will happen or not.”
This call took place in a context of increasing concern concerning the supply of American weapons to Ukraine, and shortly after an appeal between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, who offered no hope to end the war.
The United States has suspended certain military aid deliveries to Ukraine, including crucial air defense missiles.
