Former Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin is launching his own party

Faced with policies that “are now taken in a logic of permanent overbidding”, Dominique de Villepin announced the creation of his own party, specifying that it was a “movement open to all”.

One more step towards the presidential election 2027? Former Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin announced the creation of his own party, called “humanist France”, in an interview given this Monday, June 23 to the Le Parisien Monday, June 23.

“Today, I take a new step, since I decided to create a movement of ideas, of citizens, through the creation of a political party,” he explained, in parallel with the publication of his new work The power to say no to the air of the program for the future presidential election.

This new party will be chaired by himself, and led by the mayor of Garges-lès-Gonesse, Benoît Jimenez. “It is a man whom I consider and who has the immense advantage of locating politics where I want to locate it: in the greatest proximity of the French,” justified Dominique de Villepin about his choice of direction.

“Defend social justice and republican order”

“It is a movement open to everyone. We need to bring together all French people to defend social justice and republican order,” he described to the Parisian daily newspaper.

The party, having already “several dozen local locations”, has free membership, specifies the former Prime Minister.

During this interview, Dominique de Villepin notably denounced policies which “are today taken in a logic of permanent overbidding”, which is why he wants to commit “first in a fight of ideas”.

“Republicans and RN see the world in black and white and, in LFI, they see everything in red, which does not seem likely to provide solutions,” he said.

Does the former Prime Minister prepare the field before officially entering the presidential campaign? “I do not exclude anything on the contrary,” he said to BFM Marseille Provence on Wednesday, June 18, adding that he wanted to “weigh more” on the democratic future of the country.
