A man was arrested this Monday, July 14 at the end of the evening in Kingsville, in southern Texas (United States) on Monday, July 14, suspected of having pushed his daughter to throw an infant barely a few hours in a Walmart supermarket trash can, reports the local Kris channel, affiliated with NBC.
He is said to be the baby’s grandfather, according to Kingsville police. The police were moved this Monday evening after being called at 10:20 pm by an employee of the supermarket who had just found the infant in a trash of the toilets of the place. The emergency services quickly intervened to try to revive the newborn, but he was declared dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.
The baby’s mother and grandfather found not far from the supermarket
The police immediately analyzed the video surveillance images of the premises to try to find the person who left the baby on the spot. Their suspicions quickly focused on a young girl, who were seen in the early evening in the supermarket, then to the toilet, a piece in which she had remained about 40 minutes before leaving around 9:50 p.m., barely half an hour before the child’s discovery. The teenager’s car, 17, was found in the supermarket parking lot shortly before 11 p.m.
The police then found not far from there the girl, who had probably just gave birth, and her father. If she was hospitalized, Jerry Lee Martinez was arrested by the local authorities to abandon and endanger a child in negligence. The 45 -year -old man was imprisoned Tuesday in Kleberg County prison, and will only be released because of the payment of a deposit of $ 300,000 (257,000 euros), established a judge on Thursday.
