The association for the protection of nature and democracy filed two initiatives on Friday to slow down the expansion of wind farms. More than 110,000 signatures were collected by text.
The forest protection initiative requires nature to be protected against the installation of wind turbines in the woods. For each wind turbine installed, you must clear the equivalent of a soccer field. “Bringing down green spaces to protect the climate is an absolute nonsense”, criticizes the initiative committee.
The text does not prohibit the installation of wind turbines. But he requests that these be planned and made elsewhere than in wooded forests and pastures.
The initiative for the protection of the municipalities requests that all the inhabitants impacted by the construction of wind turbines can decide democratically. The population will thus have the right to defend their well-being and quality of life, the committee advances.
