A Brussels actor victim of a homophobic assault in London: “I sometimes forget that such things are still coming”

22 homophobic assaults have been recorded in Liège since early 2024

Indeed, the two lovers were not attacked by anyone. A few hours after the assault, videos of it appeared on the Instagram and Tiktok accounts of a certain “Fatabz”, Abdur Rahmaan Mijeed of his real name. On Instagram, it has 750,000 subscribers, and 1.1 million subscribers on Tiktok.

“This morning, we woke up discovering this video, which obtained millions of views and disgusting number of hateful comments,” said Thomas Billiouw.

Faced with the controversy, the influencer Abdur Rahmaan Mijeed tried to calm the game, saying that he is not homophobic. To defend himself, he wrote the following message in the comments of the video: “They are my friends Tom and Jamie. No one was harassed in this video.”

“It is a homophobic offense and it is far from trivial”: a young man trapped and beaten up during an appointment made on Grindr, in Liège

A friendship that Thomas Billiouw and his companion deny firmly: “To be clear, we do not know him and it is not our friend.” Since then, the comments of the videos have been disabled.

A complaint classified without follow -up

The two men filed a complaint against Fatabz who is not at his first try, as we can see on his Instagram account. But, it will be classified without follow-up “because it does not make a homophobic remarks and it publishes its videos just as it should, it is getting attached to it.”

“I am concerned about the fact that Instagram does not delete his account. If we watch the video objectively, we do not see flagrant harassment, but read between the Instagram lines”, explains Thomas Billiouw, “I sometimes forget that such things still arrive, even in a district like Soho, however very open to the LGBTQ +community, still regret Nevertheless on a good note, “despite all that, Josh and I before spent a very beautiful evening.”
