14 departments in red vigilance from Tuesday noon, almost all of France goes to the orange

The heat wave that falls on France continues with new departments placed in red vigilance for the day on Tuesday August 12.

Météo – The heat wave goes up a notch. After a day of Monday marked by the passage of 12 departments in red vigilance heat wave by Météo-France and several heat records, the forecastist announces that four new departments will be concerned this Tuesday, August 12, from noon.

These are the Rhône, Isère, Drôme and Ardèche, which are added to the Gironde, Dordogne, Lot-et-Garonne, Landes, Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne, Gers, Tarn, Haute-Garonne and Aude. This will bring the total number of departments subject to red heat wave at 14 for Tuesday, at noon, Charente and Charente-Maritime returning to orange the same day at 6 a.m.

Météo-France also says to expect a ” Very intense, even exceptional peak, in the southwest Monday and Tuesday, and in the center-east Tuesday and Wednesday ».

Regarding the rest of France, Météo-France warns that “ The hot weather progresses to the northeast and especially in the center-east “, Reason why” a very large part of the territory Will be affected by orange vigilance.

A handful of departments located on the Breton tip and on the Norman coast will however remain in green. And a dozen departments will remain on a heat wave yellow, mainly in the Pays de la Loire and in Hauts-de-France.
