Seven Lavallois won medals during the second block of the Canada 2025 Games, adding to the other seven athletes in the region who went on the podium during the first week of competition.
Sprinter Mickael Allaire continued his dream year winning gold in 400 m with a time of 47.32 seconds. The Auteuil athlete had previously signed a golden quadruple in the 59e Final of the Quebec Games-Trois-Rivières 2025.
In addition to this gold medal, Allaire obtained money with his Quebec teammates with 4 x 100 m and 400 m relays. Lavallois Gabriel Mompoint and Karim Slim also participated in each of these two podiums respectively.
Among the girls, Maria Ulysse won the money at the 100 m. She achieved a time of 11.74 seconds, just behind Ontario Gabrielle Cole (11.70). Ulysses had signed the best time in qualifying with a sprint of 11.61 seconds.
Melianne Berthe and Angelica Rossi rather helped the women’s team to obtain the silver medal. Quebecers bowed by the brand of 1 to 0 against Ontario in the gold match. They had previously beaten British Columbia, the territories-from North West and Nova Scotia to reach the final.
Daliane Rojas is the last Laval medalist. She helped the Quebec mixed team to win gold in artistic swimming with a score of 656,83,42 points, ahead of Ontario and Alberta.
Other results
Among the other athletes of the island Jesus who took part in this second block of competition, note the fourth place obtained in the female heptathlon by Clémence Lavoie. Emanuel Désilets rather finished fifth in the male component of this event.
Samira Akono Yao took the eighth row of the triple jump in girls. She made a jump of 11.38 meters. Zakariya Yesufu finished 11th in the leap in male long thanks to a performance of 6.17 meters.
On the team sports side, William Monette and the men’s volleyball team finished fourth in the competition. They bowed against Ontario in the bronze medal match. It is a Crève-Coeur result, since Quebecers had previously passed very closely to eliminate the Alberta in the semi-finals. The formation of Western Canada finally won at the end of the suspense.
Amélie d’Ambroise and the women’s volleyball team have rather finished eighth in this event, while Florence Bergeron and Chloé Michaud took sixth in women’s baseball with the Quebec selection.
Medal record
In addition, Quebec has finished second in the medal classification. In total, Quebec representatives got their hands on 173 medals, 63 gold, 58 silver and 52 bronze.
Ontario finished in the front row with 175 podiums, while British Columbia completed the top-3 with its 116 cumulative medals.
Despite this second place, Quebec broke its previous medal record obtained during summer games. The previous brand of 172 medals was established in 2013.
