A boycott campaign against McDo in the United States

An American pressure group invites citizens to sulk McDonald’s throughout August to protest against the tax evasion of companies and defend the rights of workers.

This group is The People’s Union USA. Its founder is John Schwarz.

“It’s about lifting the veil, staying united and refusing that billionaires and corrupt politicians continue to monopolize our work, our families and our future,” he explains on his web page.

Before targeting McDonald’s, the activist had already attacked Amazon and Walmart.

Founded in 1955, McDonald’s has some 150,000 employees worldwide. Last year, the giant has garnered nearly $ 12 billion.

His CEO is Christopher Kempczinski. In Canada, its number 1 is Michèle Boudria.

Two years ago, The newspaper Reported that McDonald’s has received six times more complaints from customers unable to be served in their language in three years.

This number increased from 38 (2021-2022) to 230 (2023-2024), according to the Quebec Office of the French Language (OQLF).

McDonald’s did not immediately answer questions from Journal Monday morning.
