A hailstorm made significant damage to Calgary

A thunderstorm accompanied by violent hailled showers hit Calgary on Sunday evening, causing very large damage in the municipality and its surroundings.

According to Environment Canada, gusts up to 93 km/h have swept northeast of the city around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Residents shared photos showing the extent of the damage caused by hail.

Trees have broken due to Sunday bad weather in the Thorncliffe community, northwest of Calgary.

The North Haven district, in the northwest of Calgary, was not spared by the hailstorm on Sunday. Signaling panels have also been overthrown.
